Yes we have found that there are nothing like the problems on the tablets that we have experienced with the mobiles such as iPhone and Android run HTC etc. The larger screen tablets from seven inches upwards also seem to allow us to show the video and play it in situ but now we need to try the Windows RT tablet! If you have one please let us know! Many thanks Steve.

Thanks for asking the question. I would say it's a help instead of hinder for Synote Mobile. Technologically as a developer, I still believe currently the native app can do more than mobile web app, especially for multimedia applications. But the mobile web is improving all the time and it will overtake native app someday when most things we could do on native app can also be implemented on the mobile Web. This has already happened on desktop where many desktop software has gradually replaced by Web applications.

At least, YouTube thinks OK to ask users go to mobile Web to view videos instead of using native app. This is a good sign to show Google's believe on mobile Web, so does Synote Mobile. Of course, HTML5 has not been finalised yet and it's hard to say if we can do something about the browser's native player now or the old player will be replaced. So our current opinion is that we still stick to the mobile Web, even though there are many uncertainties. Meanwhile, we are trying to get something working on one mobile Web platform first and adopt it for other platforms.

Thanks, Li. You're absolutely right. RWD isn't any kind of silver bullet … just a set of simple techniques for flexibility. I guess it's a much more central player when it comes to the creation of websites – rather than web apps, although as you say, it still plays a part.

The user experience, UI and interactions is a critical factor. In fact, I'm very pleased to hear a product producing edu project actually talking about user experience! That's a very good thing to hear :)

Given some of the complexities around your app I do agree, two versions sounds like the way to go. I look forward to seeing it develop.
