Dr Abi James

Abi is a Visiting Research Fellow and consultant on how technology can help overcome dyslexia, special educational needs and disabilities. Over the past decade she has led a number of projects to develop, deploy and evaluated how both mainstream and assistive technology removes barriers to learning. Abi chairs the British Dyslexia Association New Technologies Committee and over the last three years project managed the accessibility aspects of the European Horizon 2020-ICT-2015 project called Slidewiki before leaving to work part-time with AbilityNet

David Banes

Director of David Banes Access and Inclusion Services and formerly CEO at Mada - Qatar Assistive Technology Center, David has recently been working on many international projects. At the heart of much of the work undertaken is the support for the use of accessible technology products and services for those with disabilities. This includes mentoring app developers for UNICEF, literacy development programmes and localisation of assistive technologies in a wide range of counntries. .

Dr Neil Rogers

Neil has successfully defended his PhD thesis on 'Evaluating the mobile web accessibility of electronic text for people with print impairments in Higher Education' He is continuing to work with the ECS Accessibility Team whilst planning for the future.
